London SEO Agency for Businesses That Want Leads, Not Reports
We have been ranking London businesses for over twelve years — fintech in the City, e-commerce, professional services and local firms across the boroughs. Technical SEO, content, links and AI-search structuring run as one connected service, quoted in pounds, on a three-month term instead of a twelve-month lock-in.

What London is actually searching for
Most agency pages tell you London is competitive and stop there. Here is our own Google Search Console record for London queries over the last twelve months, plus what each of those query groups actually looks like when you open the results page.
- “seo agency london” and its close variants17,939 impressions · avg. position 37.9
- “seo audit london” and website-audit terms17,062 impressions · best position 6.4
- “seo consultant london”Individual-expert intent · converts far above the head term
- “technical seo london”Low volume, high urgency · usually a live problem
- “seo north london” and its variants377 impressions in 28 days · position 14.9 · zero clicks
- “organic seo services london”286 impressions in 28 days · the “organic” modifier matters
- Borough and district terms — Shoreditch, Croydon, Canary WharfMap pack decides most of it · needs your own profile
- “ecommerce seo london” and sector variantsStrong commercial intent · agency-heavy results page
Rows one and two are our own Search Console data for the twelve months to 11 August 2026, measured at page level. Rows three and four are query-level data from the same property for the 28 days to 12 August 2026. The remaining rows are characterisations of the live results page rather than volume estimates — anyone quoting you an exact monthly search volume for a London query is reading a tool, not the SERP.
Why London SEO is harder than it looks — and where the gaps still are
London is arguably the most contested search market in Europe. Almost every commercial query already has an established agency, a comparison site or a directory holding page one, and a good number have four paid listings above them taking the first screen outright. That is the honest starting position, and any agency that skips past it is selling you something.
But contested is not the same as closed, and our own numbers make the point better than an argument would. The London audit query group above reached position 6.4 — page one — from a page that was 1,369 words long and had no meta description at all. Google was writing the snippet itself. The ranking was never the constraint there. Presentation was.
That pattern repeats across London results pages. A large share of the incumbents rank on domain age and brand recognition rather than on pages that answer the query well, and the directories rank on aggregation rather than on saying anything. Both are beatable on specificity: a page about SEO for London fintech firms competes with almost nobody, while a page about “SEO London” competes with everybody.
So we do not chase the head term first for a new client. We find the specific, qualified version of the query your actual buyers type, win those, and let the head term follow the authority rather than lead it. It is slower to describe and considerably faster to achieve.
- ✓Page one is genuinely reachable — our own London audit page hit position 6.4 without a meta description, a rewrite or a link campaign.
- ✓The head term is not the goal — “seo london” converts worse than “seo for london law firms” and costs many times more to win.
- ✓Ads own the first screen — on most London commercial queries, the organic position you win sits below four paid listings.
- ✓Boroughs are real search behaviour — UK searchers add a location far more often than US ones — Shoreditch, Croydon and Canary Wharf behave as distinct queries.
- ✓North London is its own market — and a softer one — “seo north london” and its variants carry real volume against a noticeably thinner competitor set than the central London terms.
- ✓Directories are beatable — listicle and directory pages rank on aggregation, not on answering; a specific page beats them on a specific query.
The London results page looks impenetrable until you read it properly. Half of page one is directories and listicles, and much of the rest is agencies ranking on brand age. Neither of those beats a page that actually answers the exact question someone typed.

The London we actually work across
London is not one market. A firm in the City is competing with an entirely different set of businesses than one in Croydon, and UK searchers attach borough and district names to queries constantly. These are the areas that come up most in client work.
City of London
Financial and professional services. The most competitive commercial results pages in the country — and the highest value per lead to match.
Canary Wharf
Banking, fintech and legal. Long buying cycles, so content that still works six months after publication matters more than volume does.
Shoreditch & Old Street
Startups, SaaS and agencies. Buyers here research thoroughly and compare openly, which rewards genuinely useful content over sales copy.
Westminster & Mayfair
Professional services, property and luxury retail. Brand-heavy results pages where trust signals decide who gets the click.
Camden & King’s Cross
Media, creative and hospitality. Heavy local intent, and the map pack settles most of it before the organic results are read.
Islington & North London
Independent retail, professional services and clinics across Islington, Highgate, Crouch End, Finchley, Barnet and Enfield. Far more local-service and residential than the City, so the map pack settles a much larger share of the enquiries here than it does in the centre.
Croydon & South London
Local-service businesses and trades. Far less agency competition than central London, and much faster to move as a result.
Hammersmith & West London
Healthcare, clinics and B2B services. YMYL rules apply here, so authorship and trust signals do real ranking work.
Stratford & East London
Retail, logistics and fast-growing SMEs. Under-served in search relative to how much business is actually there.
The sectors that dominate London search
We work across sectors, but a few have produced most of our London results — and one of them by a considerable margin.
Fintech & Financial Services
Our strongest London vertical by some distance. Tap Global, Husky Finance and Strabo are all fintech clients, and we ran dedicated fintech marketing and financial-services SEO for years before that. Compliance limits what you are allowed to claim in this sector, which means rankings have to be earned on substance rather than on copywriting.
Professional & Legal Services
Firms selling expertise rather than products, where a single client is worth thousands and the buyer reads three or four sites before making contact. Authority content and clear authorship do more here than keyword density ever will.
E-commerce & Retail
Category and product-page SEO built around buyer intent rather than search volume, with the technical work — faceted navigation, indexation control, page speed — done properly, because at scale that is usually what is actually broken.
Property & Real Estate
Hyper-local by nature. Developers and agents compete on borough, postcode and development name, which makes London one of the few markets where genuine location pages earn their place instead of being doorway pages.
Healthcare & Clinics
Private clinics and practitioners, where Google applies its strictest trust standards. Content has to be attributable to a qualified person, and the map pack usually decides the appointment.
SaaS & Technology
Keyword-to-funnel mapping for demo requests and trials, and technical SEO that survives a product team shipping every week without asking anyone first.

What you’re actually committing to
Most agencies keep this in a contract you only see after the sales call. We would rather you knew now, because it is the question everyone asks second — right after the price.
- A 3-month initial term, then month to monthLong enough for the 90-day guarantee above to mean something, short enough that you are not trapped if it doesn’t work out. The wider industry standard is 6 to 12 months.
- 30 days’ notice to stopNo exit fee and no buy-out of the months you haven’t used. You leave when you decide to, not when the contract lets you.
- No setup or onboarding feeThe audit is free, and month one costs exactly what month two costs. Nothing is front-loaded.
- You own everythingAnalytics, Search Console, content, accounts and any tooling set up for you — all in your name from day one, and all still yours if we part ways.
- One fixed monthly feeAnything outside the agreed scope is quoted and approved by you before it starts. It never appears on an invoice as a surprise.
- Reporting written to be readWhat changed, what it moved and what is next — in plain English, at the cadence set out in your plan, not a 40-page export nobody opens.
These are the terms as they appear in the agreement itself — nothing here is softened for the website. The full wording lives in our terms and conditions, and you get the agreement to read before anything is signed or invoiced.
Where we actually are — and what that changes
Almost every London agency page implies a London office. Ours does not, because we do not have one. Our head office is in Karachi, and the UK side of the business is people and working hours rather than a building in the City.
We are telling you on the page instead of on a phone call because it changes exactly one thing, and you should know which. It does not affect organic rankings — Google does not rank your website higher because your agency has a London postcode. It does affect the map pack: a Google Business Profile needs a genuine address in the area it serves, so if local map results are where your customers find you, that profile has to be registered to you. We optimise yours. We cannot substitute ours for it, and any agency implying otherwise is describing a policy violation.
Everything else runs the way it would from an office in Farringdon: UK working hours, calls in your time zone, invoices and reporting in pounds, and a named senior strategist rather than an account manager relaying someone else’s notes.
- UK working hours. Calls, replies and reporting on London time — not answered overnight.
- Quoted and invoiced in GBP. No exchange-rate surprises at the bottom of an invoice.
- Your Google Business Profile, not ours. We optimise the profile registered to your address. That is the only legitimate way to do map-pack work.
- A named senior strategist. The person on the first call is the person doing the work.
- The previous version of this site claimed a London base. It should not have. This one does not, and that is the standard we intend to hold.
