Your Page Has a Follower Count. That Is Not Where Facebook Happens.

Almost every business puts its Facebook effort into the Page — the thing with the follower number, the posting schedule, the little bar chart. Meanwhile the part of Facebook that genuinely reaches people near you is somewhere else entirely: local Groups, Events, Marketplace, and the recommendation threads where somebody asks who to call. Posting more on the Page is the most reliably wasted effort on this platform.

The Numbers First

Six places on Facebook that are not your Page

None of these has a follower count attached, none of them appears on the Page dashboard, and for a local business every one of them is worth more than another post.

  • Local GroupsWhere people ask who to call
  • Recommendation threadsAnd whether anyone names you
  • EventsDiscovery that has nothing to do with followers
  • MarketplaceFor the businesses it fits · overlooked
  • MessengerWhere the enquiry actually arrives
  • Reviews on your PageThe one Page feature that matters

The fifth row is where most Facebook enquiries are lost rather than won. People message rather than call, they expect an answer at roughly the speed of a text message, and an unanswered message sits there visibly. A business with a slow reply time is publishing that fact, and that is worth fixing before a single additional post is written.

Straight Talk

You cannot post your way into a local Group

Groups are the part of Facebook that still delivers local reach reliably, and they are the part a business cannot simply buy into. Most have rules against promotion, run by admins who have seen every attempt, and a business that turns up posting adverts is removed within a day. What works is slower and less scalable: being genuinely useful in threads about the thing you know, and being the name somebody else mentions when a neighbour asks.

That is an uncomfortable thing to sell, because it cannot be automated and it does not fill a report. What we can do is find the Groups that matter for your area and trade, watch the threads where your kind of work comes up, and make sure that when a recommendation question appears you are in a position to be answered into it — usually by a real person from the business rather than an agency account, and we will say so if that is what is needed.

Events are the underused half. For anything with a date — an open day, a class, a sale, a talk — Facebook Events still reach people who do not follow you, which is exactly what the Page cannot do. They are also low effort relative to their return, and they are skipped because they do not fit a content calendar.

The Page still has one job worth doing well: being the thing somebody checks after they heard about you somewhere else. Current opening hours, a working phone number, recent reviews, and a message that gets answered. That is not glamorous work and it converts the interest the rest of this generates. A Page maintained for that purpose beats a Page maintained for a posting schedule, at a fraction of the effort.

  • You cannot post into a Group — They have rules and admins who have seen every attempt.
  • Be the name somebody else says — Recommendation threads are the local mechanism that still works.
  • Events reach non-followers — The one thing your Page structurally cannot do. Routinely skipped.
  • Answer Messenger quickly — A slow reply time is published on your Page for everyone to see.
  • Keep the Page correct, not busy — Hours, number, reviews, replies. It is the thing people check.

What we actually do on Facebook

Six things, and only one of them is posting.

01

Find the Groups That Matter

The ones for your area and trade, with their rules read. Then watch the threads where your kind of work comes up, which is where local reach still genuinely lives.

02

Messenger Answered Properly

Within a stated time, by somebody who can actually answer. This is where Facebook enquiries arrive and where most of them are lost through silence rather than competition.

03

Events for Anything Dated

Open days, classes, sales, talks. They reach people who do not follow you — the one thing a Page structurally cannot do, and the thing most often skipped.

04

Reviews Asked For and Answered

The one Page feature that changes decisions. Requested properly after work is finished, and every review replied to, including the difficult ones.

05

A Page That Is Simply Correct

Hours that are right this week, a number that works, a location that matches. It is what somebody checks after hearing about you elsewhere, and it is frequently wrong.

06

Paid, Where Organic Proved It

Local paid social is unusually cheap and unusually precise here. We run it as part of a social engagement, after organic has shown which creative deserves the budget — never as the starting point.

— Our Proprietary Methodology —

The Visibility Framework™, applied in Facebook

The method doesn’t change by market. What it’s pointed at does.

Step 01

Audit & Listen

Existing accounts, competitor feeds, audience demographics and every comment and review already written about you. Ends with a recommendation on which platforms to keep.

Step 02

Position & Plan

Content pillars, brand voice, visual direction and a first calendar — agreed with you before a single post is produced.

Step 03

Produce & Publish

Shooting, editing, writing, scheduling and replying. The part that has to happen every week without fail, which is where most in-house efforts quietly stop.

Step 04

Amplify & Refine

Budget behind proven pieces, formats that underperform dropped, and the calendar rewritten monthly around what the data actually said.

Honest, No-Nonsense Commitment

Nobody controls a platform’s algorithm, so we will never promise you a viral post or a follower number. What we do commit to: the agreed content volume ships every month, every comment and DM is answered inside the agreed window, and if we miss either, that month is on us.

Investment

Priced monthly. Note that the Group and recommendation work cannot be fully outsourced — the name that gets mentioned in a local thread has to be a real person from the business, not an agency account. We will tell you which parts we can do and which parts need twenty minutes a week from you.

What you’re actually committing to

Most agencies keep this in a contract you only see after the sales call. We would rather you knew now, because it is the question everyone asks second — right after the price.

  • A 3-month initial term, then month to monthThree months is the shortest period in which a content approach can be judged honestly — month one is mostly setup and production. The wider industry standard is 6 to 12 months.
  • 30 days’ notice to stopNo exit fee and no buy-out of the months you haven’t used. You leave when you decide to, not when the contract lets you.
  • No setup or onboarding feeThe audit is free, and month one costs exactly what month two costs. Nothing is front-loaded.
  • You own everythingAccounts, page roles, ad accounts, raw footage and every finished asset — in your name from day one, and still yours if we part ways.
  • Ad spend never touches our invoiceYou pay the platform directly and keep the billing under your own control. Our fee is our fee.
  • An agreed response windowThe time we commit to replying to comments and DMs is written into your agreement, not left to goodwill.

These are the terms as they appear in the agreement itself — nothing here is softened for the website. The full wording lives in our terms and conditions, and you get the agreement to read before anything is signed or invoiced.

Facebook Social Media Management questions, answered

Is Facebook still worth it? +
For local service businesses, community organisations and anything with events, yes — and it is written off far too early by most agencies. But the value is not where people put their effort. It is in Groups, Events, recommendation threads and Messenger, none of which have anything to do with your Page or its follower count.
Less than you are probably being told, and it is close to the least valuable thing you can do here. Keep the Page correct — hours, number, reviews, replies — because it is what somebody checks after hearing about you elsewhere. Then spend the effort where reach actually happens.
Partly, and we will be straight about the limits. Most have rules against promotion and admins who have seen every attempt, so a business posting adverts is removed within a day. What works is being genuinely useful in threads and being the name somebody else mentions — and that usually needs a real person from your business, not an agency account. We find the Groups and watch the threads; you supply about twenty minutes a week.
Because that is where the enquiry arrives, people expect an answer at roughly text-message speed, and an unanswered message sits there visibly. A slow reply time is a fact your Page publishes about you. Fixing it costs nothing and is worth more than any amount of additional posting.
Paid social, yes — as part of a social media engagement, after the organic work has shown which creative deserves budget. Ad spend is billed separately and paid straight to the platform. Local paid on Facebook is unusually cheap and precise, which is exactly why it is worth pointing at something already proven rather than guessing.
Because organic-reach figures and "Facebook is dying" claims both circulate constantly, age within months, and almost never trace back to anything checkable. Every number on this site has to come from Search Console, a reproducible measurement, or our own property. None of those numbers qualifies, so none of them is here.
